Super Art Fight at The Ottobar

The Baltimore-born phenomenon known as Super Art Fight is coming to the Ottobar at 8:00pm on Friday March 16th, 2012!
If you’re not familiar with this event, let me break it down for you: artists compete in 30 minute bouts by drawing on assigned topics—the twist is that new topics are assigned by the “Wheel of Death” every five minutes, and to add to the chaos, the competitors are encouraged to “attack” each other’s work with artistic add-ons of their own. Audience applause determines the winner of the match.

There are four matches lined up for the night’s madness:

Super Art Fight Championship Bout:

“The Nicest Man In Art Fight” Brandon J. Carr vs. Jamie “Brawlin’” Baldwin

Super Art Fight Tag Team Title Bout:
“The Business” Henry Alexander & “Charm City Shinobi” Dann Malihom (Champions)

vs.

“Angry Zen Master” Jamie Noguchi & MECHA IMPACT

#1 Contender’s Bout for SAF Tag Titles:
Michael “Spaghetti Kiss” Bracco & Chelsea “Grose Misconduct” Grose

vs.

Darl “Apocalypse” Gnau & Bryan “Silent But Violent” Prindiville

Grudge Match!:
Nick “Ghostfreehood” DiFabbio vs. Kelsey “Killer” Wailes
Amongst the amazing matches in the line-up, it’s the show down between DiFabbio and Wailes that has veteran attendees of Super Art Fight wracked with anticipation. In early 2011, the two worked together as partners in the fan-favorite Team Robozilla and later won the very first Super Art Fight Tag Team Championship. But, that victory ultimately laid the groundwork for Team Robozilla’s falling out. In their first title-defending match, DiFabbio and Wailes lost their tag-champion belts. The hotly contested decision drove DiFabbio to dissolve his alliance with Wailes. Now, with pride on the line, the pair that used to fight side-by-side will be going head-to-head.

In addition to the battles, Super Art Fight will be hosting musical comedy duo Paul and Storm and nerdcore hip-hop artist Beefy.
