IGDA Baltimore vs IGDA Philly Laser Tag Match Recap
Yes that is right folks, if you follow the Philly and Baltimore IGDA chapters than you know that the east coast trash talking on the forums. Weeks and weeks passed as the trash talking just filled the community with something fun and really funny posts. On Saturday (2nd day of GameX) after the show closed for the day, all the VIP’s and Industry professionals headed over to ‘Arnold’s Family Fun Center’ for some extra after-show mingling and partying. During the VIP party you had live music , go-karts, food, beer, arcade games and laser tag. Even though both chapters are friends at heart, you could feel the tension (Not Really). Once the dust settled and a couple drinks down the hatch it was on!
Baltimore and Philly chapter members lined up for some laser tag competition. The Baltimore team, lead by Chapter leader Tronster Hartley and fellows chapter members Tina Tyndal, Ben Walsh, Carrington Dennis, Myself , Bryan Mark and former IGDA Executive Jason Della Rocca filled on as a special guest player. After a few team pictures and sorting out our strategies each team headed to their side of the course.
Once the game began you had nothing but crawling on floors, back and forth running to defend and attack bases, taking down the other team with your laser gun and just straight mayhem to increase score count. Only being able to see your individual score while in-game all waited for the score to display on the scoreboard. Yes! We all cheered as IGDA Baltimore won in a landslide victory. All was in good fun, and it shows how close the east coast chapters, professionals and students are. Maybe next time Philly.
