Yet again the Baltimore Convention Center was the focus downtown at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, but this time it was for Baltimore Comic Con. This was the 11th year that this event was held at the convention center and it was packed as ever but this year as they were only in one of the larger rooms which was a combination of Dealers, Artist Alley and Comic Book Artist and Company Booths, and then there were two rooms on the upper level for the Industry Panels and discussion. Panels like one for the upcoming Thor movie by Marvel Studios where they let fans in on some more details to the movie and another Panel for IDW comics, who produce the Transformers comics I so adore. There were few Cos-players around but not as many on the first day but there were plenty on the second due to the 2nd Annual Costume competition for $1000. I wasn’t really around to witness the entries or the winner but my toss up would be between the Gears of War guy and the Bucky Barnes Captain America, both were really good.

As I was scouring through the crowds, like I and many do at most conventions, I did notice that there were quite a few game themed costumes like the Gears character, a couple of kids wearing a Mario and Yoshi costume, and even a booth only selling Gaming memorabilia.
As I was walking one booth struck my eye. There was an animation playing on a TV in the back and the was a pilot who owned a giant robot and on a second screen a 3D animation of that same robot. Intrigued I asked the person a the booth about what he was presenting, apparently it was a comic book which they were making a short animation to help promote the comic Atomic Robo. He also mentioned that the 3D model was just some eye candy to attract people to the booth. We continued to converse and then he mention that they were also developing a small game to go on the website possibly in the near future, which I will be on the look out for. I continued through the room filled with various types of comics you could imagine and came across something that personally intrigued me. A booth set up by Interrobang! Studios. I like the art work cause it reminded me of a show I saw on Nickelodeon called Kid vs Cat…but anyway after I made my purchases I noticed that they had a game sitting off to the side called Artisan. Basically it was a game to teach people how to transition to using Wacom tablets and mice to make art on their computers. I was giving a copy and I will definitely be doing a review on it as soon as I finish the game.
Overall my second experience at Baltimore ComicCon was a good one and I highly recommend that people, whether comic readers or not, GO! Its definitely an event that can grow to become a bigger event with more goodies for everyone.
