Baltimore ComicCon 2010 – Comics, Costumes and Games

Yet again the Baltimore Convention Center was the focus downtown at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, but this time it was for Baltimore Comic Con. This was the 11th year that this event was held at the convention center and it was packed as ever but this year as they were only in one of the larger rooms which was a combination of Dealers, Artist Alley and Comic Book Artist and Company Booths, and then there were two rooms on the upper level for the Industry Panels and discussion.  Panels like one for the upcoming Thor movie by Marvel Studios where they let fans in on some more details to the movie and another Panel for IDW comics, who produce the Transformers comics I so adore. There were few Cos-players around but not as many on the first day but there were plenty on the second due to the 2nd Annual Costume competition for $1000. Baltimore Schools To Incorporate Virtual Video Game Education

Baltimore County Public Schools plans to incorporate video game development education into its curriculum with the help of serious game applications.

Along with Learning Port strategies, the public school district has developed a program called L.i.V.E., or Learning in a Virtual Environment, which includes a “virtual high school” and a game development contest that will encourage students to create games based around topics related to science, technology, engineering, and math.

Tetris. A simple game played by almost everyone. And by everyone I don’t mean most gamers but everyone. Heck, even my Grandfather has played it. This game has brought so much joy to so many people; a game that may never die. Its recent homes in everything from iPods to cell phones will make this game keep ticking for many years to come.
